Opening Island’s eyes to the world of art

Two young art lovers are hoping to open up the world of art to others on the Island through a one-day-only exhibit.Jahde Eve and Korie Minors will display their photographs at a pop up photo exhibit at the TQ Gallery in the Walker Arcade tomorrow, from 5pm until 9pm.Mr Eve said it’s a time for people of all ages to come out and enjoy good art and socialise.“We are both in school, I am at New York University and he is in London, where this sort of pop up show happens pretty often. We thought it would be cool to offer it for young people, especially because it’s something different for them to do, other than going to a party or dance.”Operating under the name ENSO Worldwide, they are hoping the event will expose more people to the arts and give them other choices for what they could be doing with their time. They also believe it will be something new and exciting and not something normally done in Bermuda.Mr Eve said he was relatively new to the art circle, but was inspired a few months back to take up the hobby after speaking with some friends overseas who are photographers. He picked up a camera and learned how to take a few shots by talking to his professional friends and researching online.Mr Minors, on the other hand, is more experienced with design and photography and recently graduated with a degree in architecture. They encourage people to stop by tomorrow night with friends or family. The event is assisted by Angelo’s Bistro, TQ Limited, Asha Ludwig and the Walker Arcade on Reid Street.Useful website: http://ensoworld.tumblr.com/
