Three stocks trade on BSX

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged on Friday at the end of a week in which it gained 2 per cent

Shares of three companies traded but none changed value in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

Ascendant Group Ltd was the most actively traded stock, with 7,700 shares changing hands as the owner of electricity utility Belco closed remained on $17.

Telecoms group One Communications Ltd closed unchanged on $3 as 5,758 of its shares were traded.

Financial-services investment company Somers Ltd, owner of Bermuda Commercial Bank, was the only other stock to trade. Somers remained on $16 as 100 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged on 2,935.06. Trading volume was 13,558 shares and turnover totalled $149,824.

For the week, the index climbed 2.01 per cent, thanks to strong gains in the shares of Butterfield Bank, up 2.5 per cent, and Somers, up 4.9 per cent.

The BSX Insurance Index fell for a third successive day, slipping 11.2 points, or 0.74 per cent, to close on 1,499.55.
