Consignment store Orange Bay Company is holding a back-to-school extravaganza sale to help raise money for a playground redevelopment at disabled charity WindReach.

All gently used home furnishings and fashions will be sold at the lowest ticketed price on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Delight Morris, co-founder of Orange Bay Company, said: “When we started Orange Bay Company in 2009, we had a mission to help facilitate better living for everyone in Bermuda.”

The store will host a get-together, shopping party and fundraiser in-store on Saturday, benefiting local charity Mama’s Boundless Playground Initiative for WindReach.

Ms Morris said: “This back-to-school season, as we’re all focusing on setting up our children for a great year of learning and play, we’re really pleased to be able to help Mama with the Boundless Playground Initiative to create a better quality of life for all of Bermuda’s children.”

The event will feature pop-up shops from local online companies, family-focused presentations, and, from 10am to 2pm, storytelling for children.

Drinks and cupcakes, including vegan and gluten-free options, will also be available.

The Boundless Playground Initiative is raising funds for the redevelopment of the playground facilities at WindReach to create an outdoor area where children of all abilities will be able to play, promoting physical development and social inclusion.

Tusha Stovell from www.imbringingthekid.com, a review site for parents, will entertain the children at storytime, allowing parents to shop and take part in presentations and discussions on parenthood and better family living. There will also be colouring stations.

Suzanne Khan, founder of Sarra K, an organisation that helps millennial mothers reduce the stresses of baby and birth planning, will be speaking about “creating a path to minimalism” as a means to improve the quality of life for the family.

Sarra K merchandise will be available in the store, as well as “kid-friendly” party supplies and toys from online retailer La Petite Soiree.

Orange Bay Company customers can make donations to the Boundless Playground Initiative in cash or in kind.

Those who do will be eligible to win prizes from Sarra K and La Petite Soiree.
