Johnson completes paddleboard quest
Heat and exertion sent Adam Johnson a little delirious during his fundraising round-the-island paddleboard challenge, but he managed to complete the task.
The lawyer took on the challenge to raise money for the Sargasso Sea Commission, whose aim is to protect the Sargasso Sea including the waters around Bermuda.
Johnson completed the gruelling task on Monday in just over 11 hours. While he is still counting the funds raised, so far $2,500 will be going to his charity.
Mr Johnson said: “It was a windy day but very hot, so there were a couple of times on the south shore that I got delirious and lost the plot a bit. With the board I have, you can surf the waves and I am a surfer so it made it more interesting, but paddling against the wind was not fun at all.
“In law school I wrote my dissertation on protecting the Sargasso Sea. When I qualified I decided to take a break and raise awareness for the protection of the Sargasso Sea.
