The event will include the youngsters from the recent Ironkids triathlon, between the ages of seven and 14, and the youngest members (18) from the senior championships.

More than 160 children took part in the Ironkids triathlon but Greg Hopkins, president of the Bermuda Triathlon Association, admits because this is the first event numbers may be small. However, the intention is to gradually increase the popularity of the event.

"The overall winners of the Ironkids (Tamika Williams and Kris Hedges) have already got their entries in,'' said Hopkins. "Kids are always saying there is nothing for them to do, so hopefully they will come out. We're throwing out the challenge to them. But we won't be surprised if there are small numbers.'' Youngsters wishing more information can call race directors Pam Froud (238-3027) or Mary Hopkins (238-3027). The entry fee of $15 must accompany entry applications.

GOLF GLF Members of the Bermuda Golf Association's `A' Division returned to Ocean View Golf Club for the final time this year with the BGA Men enjoying the surroundings so much they led all teams with a total of 209 strokes.

They were followed by Ocean View I in second place on 298 and tied for third were Port Royal's first and second teams on 300.

Individually, Hank Ascento shot a brilliant 66 with Arthur Jones shadowing him on a 67. Twenty players shot scores in the 70s.

With two rounds to go, Port Royal I lead the `A' League standings with 31 points on 1,219 strokes and BGA Men in second with 261 points on 1,220 strokes. In third place are Port Royal II with 26 points on 1,228 strokes.

In the `B' Division, Belmont, Ocean View III and Castle Harbour grabbed the first three positions in weekend play. Individually, the consistent Judithanne Astwood, maintained her excellent form and shot a 78.

The Bermuda Junior Golf Association are alone in first place with 23 points on 719 strokes with two rounds to go. Port Royal III are in second with 20 points on 725 strokes with the BGA Ladies (731 strokes) and Belmont (737 strokes) tied for third on 17 points.

This weekend the `A' League players will compete at Port Royal while the `B' League will play at Ocean View.

EQUESTRIANISM RAH Dressage rider Michelle Ingham of Bermuda, who is aiming for the North American Young Riders Championships to be held in August, enjoyed a successful tune-up for that event this weekend in Gladstone, New Jersey.

In fact, Ingham's combined totals in a couple of the events gave her the overall championship and possession of the Terry Kieneg Memorial Trophy.

In a young riders competition featuring top competitors from Canada, Mexico and the United States, Ingham and her horse Fatal Attraction placed a respectable third in the team competition with a score of 607 (63.23 percent).

In the individual competition, she placed a dazzling second with a score of 622 points (64.79 percent).

The Gladstone event will be Ingham's final major competition before the Young Riders Championships, but she intends to participate in a few lower level competitions.

SOCCER SOC Dandy Town senior players are urged to attend a meeting today at the club beginning at 7 p.m.

All members of the Somerset Terminators women's team are asked to attend a meeting at Somerset Cricket Club on Sunday at noon. Anyone else interested in playing should also attend.

Lobster Pot Football Club will be holding a meeting at the Mariners' Club on Wednesday, July 7 at 6 p.m. for all club members and individuals wishing to play next season.

Young Men's Social Club will hold a meeting for all senior players on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the club.
