Happy couple tie the knot

Transport Minister Terry Lister and his bride, Eudora Browne-Zuill

Wedding bells are still symbolically ringing for the Hon. Terry Lister, the recently appointed Minister of Transport and his bride, Eudora Browne-Zuill. A closely-knit circle of family and colleagues witnessed them exchanging vows at the Reefs Resort, Southampton on December 8.Terry took time out to propose to Eudora at the height of his months-long contentious campaign for the leadership of the ruling Progressive Labour Party and hopefully the premiership of Bermuda that ultimately went to Paula Cox; she appointed him to her Cabinet and he barely had time to settle into his new Ministry before he was jetting off to Cancun, Mexico for his honeymoon.AME Presiding Elder Rev. Betty L. Woolridge conducted the nuptial, being the first for her since assuming the office of Presiding Elder. It was a second around for both the bride and groom, whose previous marriages ended in divorce. And for once in a long while the spotlight was not focused on Terry. All eyes were on his bride. She’s the mother of two daughters, and grandmother of seven.Eudora was resplendent in her ivory over light gold ’Libby’ gown, designed by the famous Maggie Sottero. It was a one-piece strapless, slim A-line dress with softly sequined allover lace elegantly featuring an illusion lace train. Her diamond earrings and diamond necklace matched her wedding band.Given in marriage by her uncle Franklyn Nisbett, Eudora was attended as maid-of- honour by her daughter Carla Zuill, a journalist in Government’s Department of Information. Serving the groom as best man was William (Bill) Richardson.Eudora said she and Terry have known each other since they were age seven, having attended Southampton Glebe School and the Berkeley Institute. Terry went on to qualify as a chartered accountant. Eudora graduated with distinction from the Bermuda College, went to University of Toronto gaining an Honours Degree in Sociology followed by a Master’s in Criminology. Next she graduated from Hazelden’s Addiction Studies Programme in Minnesota as an Addiction Specialist.Upon returning to Bermuda Eudora became involved in work of the National Drug Commission (NDC) and was given responsibility for developing and directing the Bermuda Youth Counseling Services. She retired from her Government job just before her marriage. Minister Lister and his bride are making their home in the Somerset Bridge district.
