Look back and celebrate, look forward and plan
In December I often reflect on my past year of fitness and wellness with its highs, lows and in betweens.
It must be emphasised that this journey isn't linear but rather a series of ups, downs, straight lines, squiggles and pauses.
So when I look back I see a beautiful mess where I continued to learn my body, grow in mental strength and implement different tactics which got me to my goals.
The beauty in the journey is when I began to do things that months prior were a struggle or impossible to complete. However, through consistency and dedication I improved and can now do amazing things.
Our bodies are amazing. Our minds are strong. We train not just for aesthetics but to glory in our improvements, athleticism and to continue being a student of our own bodies.
December is a great time to look back and smile at your progress, plan for the new year and gear up for another year of fitness and wellness.
I can't say I do New Year Resolutions but I'm not against them either. I do think it takes more than a day to create this list though. December is such a great month to start thinking about it. You can look back on the past eleven months and plan for that January shift in gear.
What did you accomplish this past year? What did you learn? Did you pick up a new fitness class? Remove something that just wasn't working this year?
Have a seat and put pen to paper. Enjoy the time of reflection and begin planning for things in 2022.
Don't wait until December 31 and rush to write those resolutions (promises to yourself). If you take your time writing down your goals, creating your vision you will be smarter with your schedule, planning better for success.
Let's do it fitfam. 2021 was a great year and I personally look forward to what I write down and plan for my fitness and wellness journey of 2022.
Happy Wednesday and as usual continue to be unapologetic about your fitness and wellness journey and true to yourself.
