Chocolate for charity
Chocolate cake may be the ultimate chick magnet, and Peter Jovetic, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Food 4 Thought Catering, thinks he has the formula for the best chocolate cake in the world. To prove it, Food 4 Thought is holding a chocolate party called ‘I'd Rather Fall In Chocolate An Evening of Chocolate Tasting' today. One hundred lucky ladies will have the chance to vote on four of Mr Jovetic's chocolate creations. The event will also have on hand other delights such as chocolate dipped strawberries, chocolate truffles, chocolate martinis, a chocolate fountain and wine.Part of the proceeds will go to the Committee of 25 for Handicapped Children that helps children who are physically and mentally challenged. “This is a charity that is close to my heart, because my son Alexander, 19, has cerebral palsy,” said Mr Jovetic. “He is currently at school in the United Kingdom.”Food 4 Thought is an up market catering company that has been in operation for about 11 years. He has a recipe for chocolate cake that will outrage your personal trainer.“I started making this cake in this kitchen,” said Mr Jovetic. “It started to take a life of its own. It became more and more evil each time I made it.“I started off with just a basic ganache and sponge with chocolate chips. I decided to add caramel, then nut brittle. The next time I added white chocolate mousse that I swirled through the dark chocolate. It took on a life of its own.”The idea for the chocolate party came about, in part, while Food 4 Thought chef, Nicola Rozon, was at the gym.“A lot of the ladies were gasping for a bite of chocolate and they couldn't have it,” she said. “A lot of people give up chocolate for lent. So, now that lent is over, we thought it would be a lot of fun to invite them and let them gorge on chocolate.”As for Miss Rozon, she said she tries to stay out of the kitchen when Mr Jovetic is making his cakes. “I banned him from making his cakes in front of me, because it is just too evil and you can't help yourself,” she said. “Now we have clients asking specifically for that cake.“I say to Peter, if someone was looking for a date with Jennifer Lopez all they need to do is send her a piece of this cake and she will fly over to get more.”The event will be held at X-Clusive Creations Pottery Studio from 5.30pm to 8.30pm today. The official address is 135 Front Street, but the entrance is around the corner on King Street.“It is a fabulous place to hold this event,” said Mr Jovetic.Tickets are limited and are $75 per person.Food 4 Thought hopes to do a series of similar events, for example, possibly a Lemon for Lovers, event.
