Dill’s Warriors pull out of league

Terence Dill

Terence Dill’s Buffalo Warriors are no longer part of the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL) citing team issues as a chief reason for the withdrawal.Bermudian Dill and fellow Buffalo-based player Franklin Jackson formed the team and joined the league this season, with both acting as general managers.Although the decision to fold for the current season was necessary, Dill still has his sights on bringing the team back to compete in a league next term.“We had a few issues this year that didn’t allow us to perform at our best and in the end it was the best thing to do for all involved,” said Dill. The ex-Devonshire Dragons power forward won’t let the setback affect how he goes about his everyday business in the sport, with the organisation still heavily involved in the community of Buffalo.“We have been doing a lot of charity events around the community of Buffalo for the children and families,” said the Bermuda international.“We have held a few charity events to where we played against schools to help raise funds for their causes.”One avenue Dill can now solely focus on is tapping into the local basketball arena in Bermuda, something that could give a few local players the chance to suit up and play overseasOne of his major objectives was to expose Bermuda’s top players to the professional ranks and remains an advocate of getting locals to the US to gain experience.Dill will be returning home early this summer in an effort to get the best players involved in some activities with an eye on selecting them for his squad for next season.“I am coming back home in May to hold a tryout for any Bermudian that would like to showcase their talents for me and my team,” he said.“I’m looking to do the event early June and also host a charity game for a high school or possibly a high school select team.“We have a lot of huge things coming up in the summer between Bermuda and Buffalo as well.“I will always stand by my heritage and country and always look back to lend a hand to the next star.”Dill used to play for the Buffalo Stampede prior to trading the hardwood for the front office.
