BSX ends the week higher

A rise in the value of Butterfield Bank shares helped lift The Royal Gazette/BSX Index to 1,297.54, up 9.22 points (0.71 per cent) last week.

The bank’s shares improved by four cents (2.2 per cent) to close at $1.89, after 12,816 were traded.

Four stocks dropped during the week, led by Bermuda Aviation Services, which was down 85 cents (27.4 per cent) at $2.25 after 19,806 shares were exchanged.

Shares of Argus Group lost 13 cents (3.3 per cent) to close at $3.82 after 30,000 were traded, and BF&M shares lost 25 cents (1.4 per cent) to close at $17 after 700 changed hands.

KeyTech’s stock dropped by one cent per share (0.3 per cent) at $3.99 after 15,000 were traded.

The BSX Insurance Index finished the week down 0.67 points (0.4 per cent) at 1,614.5.
