The Royal Gazette/BSX closed up 4.71 points, or 0.40 per cent, at 1,172.21.

A day after falling by 8.6 per cent, insurance firm Argus rose 24 cents, or 6.6 per cent, to $3.90 after 1,700 shares traded.

The Bank of Butterfield was unchanged at $1.65 after 96,227 shares changed hands.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 9.95 points, or 0.60 per cent, at 1,659.09.
