The sole trading of the day was 50,000 shares worth $195,000 in insurance firm Argus, which closed down 9 cents, or 2.3 per cent, at $3.90.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 26.50 points, or 1.59 per cent, at 1,694.68.
