Positive week on BSX as 1.6m shares trade

High volume: more than 1.5 million shares of Butterfield Bank traded on the BSX last week

Increases in KeyTech Ltd, Argus Group Holdings Ltd and Butterfield Bank drove The Royal Gazette/BSX Index higher last week.

Telecommunications firm KeyTech was the biggest climber, gaining 36 cents, or 10.2 per cent, to close on $3.90, as 25,767 shares changed hands.

Insurer Argus moved 9 cents, or 2.3 per cent higher, to close on Friday at $3.99, as 11,000 shares traded during the week.

Butterfield bounced 2 cents, or 1.2 per cent higher to $1.67, on unusually high volume as more than 1.55 million shares traded,

Ascendant Group Ltd, BF&M Ltd, West Hamilton Holdings Ltd and Somers Ltd also saw trading activity, but their prices remained unchanged.

The index rose 15.44 points, or 1.3 per cent, to close the week on 1,187.8. More than 1.62 million shares traded, while turnover was around $2.98 million.
