Ascendant shares hit new low

New low: Ascendant shares plunged to $4.25 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading

Shares of utilities company Ascendant Group hit a new low today in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The Belco owner was down 15 cents, or 3.4 per cent, to $4.25 after 800 shares sold.

A total of 48,338 shares worth about $180,400 yesterday traded on the BSX.

The Bank of Butterfield dropped 2 cents, or 1.2 per cent, to $1.65 after 10,178 shares changed hands.

Insurance firm Argus was unchanged at $3.99 after 36,500 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX closed down 7.99 points, or 0.67 per cent, at 1,179.81.

The BSX Insurance Index closed down 4.79 points or 0.29 per cent at 1,642.45.
