Financial services investment company Somers Ltd rose 75 cents, or 5.8 per cent, to $13.75 after 300 of its shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The Bank of Butterfield remained at $24.50 after 414 shares sold.

The bank’s preference shares went up by $1, or 0.1 per cent, to $1,052 after 10 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank’s price on the New York Stock Exchange also rose, up 40 cents, or 1.60 per cent, to $25.43.

Insurance firm BF&M was unchanged at $18.05 after 4,758 shares moved.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index went up 4.99 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 1,583.40.

The BSX Insurance Index went up 20.41 points, or 1.24 per cent, to 1,668.30.
