Butterfield shares gain ground in New York

No shares traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged on 2,569.33.
For the week, the index gained 0.61 per cent, driven by a 0.7 per cent increase in Butterfield Bank’s share price and a 1.1 per cent rise for BF&M Ltd.
Butterfield’s US-listed shares gained 56 cents, or 1.56 per cent, to close on $36.51 on the New York Stock Exchange. The bank last traded on the BSX at $37.50.
The BSX Insurance Index climbed 27.81 points, or 1.6 per cent, to close on Friday at 1,770.9.
