I would be what you would consider “Mr Fix-it” for the guests. If something is broken, you can rest assured that I will do my best to fix it no matter what it is - glasses, suit cases, shoes, etc.What is your favourite part of the job? My favourite part of the job is meeting the guests and working with my colleagues. With over 43 years of service, I have seen it all in the hotel industry. I enjoy the wonderful relationships that I have developed.What is your least favourite part of the job? My least favourite part of the job is repeatedly repairing something caused by the negligence of others. I believe in getting it right the first time.What is your most interesting experience as work? The most interesting experience for me was when I was working in a room and unexpectedly, Dionne Warwick walked in. I was completely surprised. We were able to chat one on one, which was a very memorable experience for me. Another experience that sticks out in my mind is when I was challenged to create a temporary front desk in a short period of time and I was very pleased with the final product. Several of my colleagues and peers thought that the structure was purchased and not made in-house. That was a proud moment for me.What would you be doing otherwise? I would have my own carpentry business or working full-time in construction. I love the mechanical trade.
