Dash Simmons and Adrian Roach triumph in Mexico
Boxers Saundre “Dash” Simmons and Adrian Roach made their travels into the heart of Mexico worthwhile on Saturday night by winning their fights.
Simmons secured a technical-knockout victory against Juan Andres Alaniz Diaz. Roach, in his first overseas fight, was awarded the win ion points n his four-round welterweight bout against Victor Emanuel Lopez, to go 2-0 in his blossoming career.
By stopping Diaz in the third round in the six-round bout, the 28-year-old Simmons took his unblemished record to 9-0, with all his victories achieved through knockouts.
From the start, the Bermudian light-heavyweight was in control of the fight, using his long reach to pummel his opponent with strong jabs to his face and body.
With a minute to go in the third round, Simmons knocked down Diaz. While the Mexican got back on his feet and was able to beat the count, the Bermudian backed his opponent into a corner and pumped more relentless blows into his face, resulting in the referee bringing the fight to an abrupt end.
