Police give updates on two crashes

An 18-year-old motorcycle rider injured in a crash on Friday night in Warwick is now recovering in stable condition on a hospital general ward, police reported.

The rider was hurt after a crash with a car at the junction of South Road and Warwick Lane.

Witnesses were asked to call Constable James Williams on the main police telephone number 295-0011.

An appeal was also made for witnesses to a collision between two cars at 9.20pm on Saturday, along North Shore Road, Smith’s, near the junction with Jennings Roads.

The vehicles appear to have been driven in opposite directions, a police spokesman said.

He added that updates suggested that the 33-year-old female westbound driver, who was taken to hospital by ambulance for medical assessment, opted to leave before being seen by medical staff. There were no other injuries reported.

Witnesses that have not come forward are asked to contact the main police telephone number, 295-0011.
