Two women charged over drugs worth millions of dollars

Two women have been charged with plotting to import millions of dollars worth of drugs.Mary Johnson, 52, is alleged to have conspired to bring in $2.4 million of cannabis weighing 108 lbs between a date unknown and October 21, 2010. She’s also accused of plotting to import 49 grams of heroin with an unspecified value.Michelle Gibbons, 28, is charged separately with conspiring to import $1.1 million of cannabis weighing 21,150 grams, also between a date unknown and October 21.Neither woman had to enter pleas as the matters must be dealt with by Supreme Court. Prosecutor Nicole Smith did not give any further details of the circumstances of the alleged offences.Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Johnson, of Edgeway Lane, Pembroke, on $10,000 bail and Gibbons, of King Street, Pembroke, on $15,000 bail.
