Teen charged with causing grievous bodily harm

A teenager was yesterday charged with severely beating another man during a group attack.Trey Simons, 18, pleaded not guilty to one count of assaulting Lance Crockwell causing grievous bodily harm on November 17.Crown counsel Tawana Tannock told Magistrates’ Court Mr Crockwell suffered four broken ribs, a perforated lung, a broken nose and a chipped bone in his spine as a result of the attack.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Simons on $3,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that he avoid all contact with the complainant or any other witnesses.He was ordered to return to court on January 25 for trial.
