Second man charged with Edness murder

Another man has been charged with the fatal shooting of Prince Barrington Edness.

Jaquii DeSilva Pearman, 20, appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with murdering Mr Edness on December 7, using a firearm to commit the offence of murder and using a firearm while in flight.

He was further charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition, specifically 0.4 Winchester rounds.

According to the charges, the offences allegedly occurred while Mr Pearman was involved with 21-year-old Joshua Usher, who was charged last month with the murder of Mr Edness.

Mr Pearman remained silent throughout proceedings. He was not required to enter a plea as the charges must be heard by the Supreme Court.

Mr Edness, 29, was fatally shot outside a South Avenue, Southampton, home after what police described as an altercation with his assailants.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Pearman into custody until Monday, when both he and Mr Usher are expected to appear to have their cases joined.
