Guilty: Brent Habetler (Photograph courtesy of Alberta RCMP)

A Canadian man has been found guilty in Magistrates’ Court of committing an indecent act in front of a woman at Willowbank Resort.

Magistrate Craig Attridge also found Brent Habetler, 46, guilty of assaulting a man at the Sandys hotel.

During his trial in February, a woman told the court that she saw Habetler, from Saskatchewan, “moving his hands rapidly” inside his pants in a common area of the resort on November 26.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said Habetler was looking in the direction of her daughter and granddaughter while performing the act, and told her that he “had an itch”.

Habetler then bumped the woman’s husband with his chest and put his hands on his shoulders while she went looking for help, but another man broke up the incident.

Mr Attridge adjourned the case to April 8 for sentencing.
