Man gets suspended sentence for assault on dog warden
A Hamilton Parish man has been given a suspended prison sentence for assaulting a dog warden.
Jeremiah Steede, 28, admitted assaulting Sean Pedro when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Steede shouted at Mr Pedro and another warden when they came to his residence on December 14.
Steede pushed and threw punches at Mr Pedro, who sustained scratches and neck pain after the incident.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy told Steede that the wardens were just doing their jobs, and sentenced him to three months behind bars, suspended for one year, for the offence.
Ms Cassidy warned Steede to “keep the peace” during the suspended sentence.
