Additional ban for man who drove taxi while disqualified

A man who drove a taxi while disqualified has been banned from driving all vehicles for a year.

Jonathan Outerbridge, 40, admitted the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that Outerbridge, who was disqualified in February 2024 from driving all vehicles for 18 months, was seen driving the taxi on June 19.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined Outerbridge $1,000 yesterday and disqualified him from driving until August 2026.

The St George’s resident was earlier fined $1,110 and banned from the roads until February after he admitted speeding and a separate charge of disqualified driving last month.

Those offences happened on June 18.
