Women receive 18-month road bans
Two women were disqualified in court yesterday from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Latoya Outerbridge, 43, admitted not taking a breath test, while Jennifer Young, 58, pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
Magistrates’ Court heard that officers saw Outerbridge, from Southampton, in a parked car in Sandys on August 10 and took her to Hamilton Police Station, where she refused to provide a breath sample.
The court separately heard that police stopped Young, from Sandys, in Southampton on August 12 and smelt alcohol on her breath.
Officers took Young to the Hamilton Police Station, where tests showed between 175 and 181 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her blood. The legal limit for driving in Bermuda is 80mg/100ml.
In addition to being banned, each of the women was fined $1,500.
