Three deny trio of offences
Three men have been charged in Magistrates’ Court with assaulting a person with intent to rob.
Jelani Simmons, 21, and 18-year-olds Zion Smith-Codrington and Ajahni Bascome-Lema, were also charged with participating in a fight in public and taking a motorcycle without the owner’s consent.
It was alleged that “owing to the driving of that vehicle an accident occurred”.
The three denied all offences, which allegedly occurred on March 14, when they appeared in court yesterday and chose to keep the case in Magistrates’ Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson remanded Mr Simmons, from Hamilton Parish, Mr Smith-Codrington, of Devonshire, and Mr Bascome-Lema, of no fixed abode, into custody until April 27.
