Man admits stealing thousands from employer

A Warwick man will be sentenced in June for stealing thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes and alcohol from his employer.

Kadeem Abraham, 36, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to concealing and falsifying account records to receive $45,876.35 worth of cigarettes and alcohol from the Warwick Rubis service station.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing $48,492.50 of cigarettes, alcohol and food from the business.

The incidents happened between January 1, 2023 and October 15, 2023.

Abraham, from Warwick, was charged with the offences last June.

He initially admitted the offences, but changed his plea to not guilty in January, all before switching his plea yet again yesterday.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered Abraham to undergo a social inquiry report and adjourned his case until June 18 for sentencing. She extended his $25,000 bail.
