What the fans had to say . . .
“Sad to say, but Bermuda really doesn’t deserve to stay up, so to speak. Not on the basis of these results”“Waste of our money!! Use it elsewhere”“Thanks for nothing Bermuda cricket!”“Maybe now people can see it’s a waste of money to support International cricket”“Disgusting! Ridiculous . . . they should stick to backyard“Hemp must go . . . he has got one ride too many anyway. As for Moore is he the answer to our problem?”“It’s clear to see that our national sport is now sailing . . . all that money has gone to waste!”“Sailing? It might be for a few monied ex-pats. For the rest of us (95% of the Island) it’s football and cricket.”“Sailing could never be a national sport, don’t talk such foolishness, cricket reaches out to thousands of kids”“The question we should ask is: What is it that the teams like Hong Kong and others are doing that has them progressing while we seem to be stagnant or regressing?”“There is still the Under-19s behind this team and they need to continue the work that they are doing. Monies on young people is never wasted. If you put it somewhere else you won’t get it back, then what will happen with the the young cricketers”“Put money into individual sports . . . you have young talent on this Island struggling to get funding. You would get more for your money supporting talented individuals than a team with a few talented individuals”“It is time for OJ PItcher or Steven Outerbridge to lead Bermuda, they are the two most experienced players, they are our future for the next 10 years ““If cricket is being played by 1000s of kids in Bermuda . . . where??? because I”m am not seeing it or hearing about it”“First things first, the board (BCB) must resign, all of them should step down plain and simple”“With no money coming in now, let’s see who hangs around the BCB for free trips. I am sure the real cricket workers will come out now”“To improve the club structure, each club should be allowed two overseas professionals who will play every weekend and run the junior programmes. This will enhance the standard of league play as cricketers are facing the same bowlers year in year out without improvement”“How about starting with a Sports Academy!!! CedarBridge is ideally situated in proximity to the NSC. With the swimming pool soon to be completed you have access to the facilities for many sports. How come we don’t have a sports programme at the Bermuda College?”“This is a hard day for many as a coach, player, adminstrator and everything else. We can bounce back and being in the lower division will be fine. It will give us a bit of time to work with a new crop. Admistrators do need to take a look at things as well. Domestic cricket is where it’s needed and as long as coaches work with the players they have and have them enjoy and improve, we can make it”“As a former player, I think we can get back. We can put some hard work in and develop a style of play so we can teach from the senior programme, all the way down to the youth. That is how many Test nations develop their players so they have a stepping stone on their way to the senior team”
