Car hit several times by gunshots in latest firearms incident in Bermuda
A car was hit several times by gunshots during another firearms incident last night, police said today.
According to a Police spokesman the car was driving along Deepdale Road West at about 9pm when it was shot at near the junction with Happy Valley Road.
The spokesman said: “The driver and sole occupant, a 32-year-old man, was not injured. The vehicle was driven away from the scene and the incident reported a short time later to the police by a relative of the man.
“Officers immediately attended the area of the shooting and conducted inquiries. The vehicle involved has been impounded and initial forensic examination would suggest that a number of shots had been fired at the car. The motive for the shooting is at this time unclear.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011. Information can also be called in anonymously to the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.
