Police report ‘relatively uneventful’ holiday
Police responded to one robbery and one attempted robbery during what they called a “relatively uneventful” holiday weekend.
At around 10.17pm on Friday, police were informed that a man carrying a bladed article entered a St John's Road, Pembroke business and demanded money.
A police spokesman said: “The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money, however no one was injured.”
On Boxing Day, at 9.17pm, officers responded to a report of a man lying on Union Street in North Hamilton.
When they arrived there, they discovered there had been a botched robbery attempt. The suspect escaped empty-handed.
The victim of the attempted robbery suffered a cut to his face.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact the Central Criminal Intelligence Unit on 295-0011.
