Two arrested after robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection to a robbery which left one man needing medical attention.
According to police, the two suspects were arrested at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after they checked in seeking treatment of their own injuries.
A Police Spokesman said that officers responded to a reported robbery at around 8.45pm on Saturday in the Hermitage Road area of Devonshire.
“It appears the victims, a man in his 20s and a teenage girl, were sitting in a parked car in the area when they were attacked by a group of unknown men brandishing bladed articles,” the spokesman said.
“Afterwards, their assailants fled the scene with a quantity of jewellery and a cellular phone.”
Both of the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and, while the teenage girl was treated and released, the male victim remained at the hospital for treatment for a leg wound.
Police said that two suspects, both men in their 20s, were arrested at the hospital seeking treatment for hand injuries.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit at 295-0011.
