Robbers target tourists in handbag snatches

American visitors were targeted by thieves in two incidents this week.Police say two men on motorcycles snatched a handbag from a 28-year-old American woman as she walked with her partner in the area of Tucker’s Town Road on Tuesday at 3pm.Two men on separate bikes rode alongside the woman before one grabbed her black handbag, which contained cash, a pink Casio digital camera and personal items, and escaped. The woman was not injured.At 5.30am yesterday, an intruder accosted two female visitors when they confronted him after he broke into a Hamilton Parish guest property.The man escaped with a purse containing cash and personal items, leaving the two women, aged 76 and 46, with injuries requiring treatment at the scene by emergency services.Officers describe the suspect as a tall, dark-skinned man with a scarf covering his face.
