Liquor store robbery information appeal

Police are keen to hear from witnesses who saw two suspects in an armed robbery speeding through Pembroke on a motorcycle after the crime.

They revealed the information as they issued a fresh appeal for witnesses relating to the hold-up at Serpentine Liquors around 4.15pm last Thursday.

“A man entered the store, brandishing what witnesses describe as a firearm, removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and fled on a motorcycle ridden by another man,” said a police spokesman.

“Assistance is being sought from the public regarding any information relating to a black Scoopy type motorcycle and the persons on board, travelling at high speed in the areas of Serpentine Road, Cemetery Road, Rosemont Avenue and St John’s Road during the period of 4pm to 4.30pm on March 15.”

A female cashier who was alone in the store when the robbery occurred, was left shaken but unhurt. Anyone with information that could assist the police should contact the main police telephone line on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
