Two arrests for impaired driving over the weekend

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the City of Hamilton over the weekend.A Police Spokeswoman said yesterday that at around 12.30am on Saturday, officers on mobile patrol noticed a livery cycle being driven erratically along Burnaby Street.Officers followed the vehicle to Front Street, where they stopped the rider, a 32-year-old Pembroke man, who appeared to be intoxicated.Officers also discovered that the rider had outstanding warrants, and arrested him.Hours later, at around 3am, officers on Front Street noticed another vehicle, a car, travelling in an erratic manner.Officers stopped the vehicle and observed that the driver, a 21-year-old Warwick man, appeared to be intoxicated.They subsequently arrested the driver on suspicion of impaired driving and detained him in police custody.Along with making two arrests for suspicion of impaired driving, officers arrested a total of 17 people for outstanding warrants and carried out several liquor license checks.
