Health Minister pays tribute to hit and run victim

Ra-Che Williams who died after a hit and run accident

Health Minister Kim Wilson last night paid tribute to Ra-Che Williams who died after a hit-and-run accident last week.

At a press conference giving an update on Covid in Bermuda, Ms Wilson said: “Before I give an update on the vaccination programme, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Ra-Che Williams, who unexpectedly passed away late last week.

“Mr Williams was a member of the Ministry of Health Covid Testing support team stationed at the LF Wade Airport and had been since his return from university last September.

“He served his country as part of the Ministry of Health team and we are ever so grateful.”

Mr Williams died after he was hit by a car on Knapton Hill. The driver failed to stop.

Last weekend the police said a person was in custody in connection with the incident.
