A 30-year-old man was arrested after police found suspected cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis resin in the car he was driving during a vehicle check in St George’s.

The Bermuda Police Service said in a statement that at about 10.45pm on Friday, officers on Kindley Field Road were carrying out checks when they stopped a car travelling east.

“Checks showed the vehicle to be unlicensed and uninsured,” the statement said.

“The driver, a 30-year-old-male, was also found to be operating the vehicle while having an expired driver’s licence.

“Officers proceeded to search the vehicle and recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis resin, ecstasy tablets, crack cocaine along with drug paraphernalia.

“The suspect was arrested for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, as well as for possession of drug paraphernalia.”

Officers searched the man’s home and other items were seized.

A court appearance in relation to this matter is expected “in due course”.
