Man shot in Devonshire

Police are investigating another incident of gun crime this morning after a man was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries in the wake of a late-night shooting in Devonshire.

At about 12.50am, police and emergency medical services personnel responded to a report of gunshots at a private residence on Devon Springs Road, Devonshire.

“Upon arrival, it was ascertained that a male had sustained gunshot wounds,” a police spokesman said. “He was provided emergency medical treatment at the scene and subsequently transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check he continued to receive treatment for his injuries.”

The spokesman added: “An investigation has now commenced into this matter and we are asking that anyone with information, please contact Acting Detective Inspector Anneka Donawa, of the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2250 or via e-mail at adonawa@bps.bm.”
