Mayho accepts series title with relish
Dominique Mayho won the final race of the Flying Colours Fat Tyre Massive race series at Lagoon Park in Dockyard at the weekend.
The victory secured Mayho the Men’s A division overall title with 175 points.
In second place on the day, and in the overall standings, was Mark Hatherly with 151 points, while Chequan Richardson, who claimed 129 points, was third in the final standings, and fifth in the race.
Matthew Oliveira, who came third in the A division, won the Men’s B division with 194 points.
Andrew Hern finished second in the B division having garnered 137 points, with Chris Smith grabbing third with 124 points. Winning the final race was Dylan Hill, followed by Peter Dunne and Hern.
Billy Phillips won the Men’s Novice division in a tight race with Ussef Eve. Phillips finished the season on 159 points, while Sunday’s race winner, Eve, finished with 157 points.
Tim Miller was third with 144 points, while Tim Sousa and Miller came second and third.
In the Men’s Veteran division, Hirschi Hans won by nine points, totalling 158 points. Runner-up honours went to Charles Stewart and Paulo Medeiros, who won the final race, with both finishing with 145 points. Second and third place in the race went to Scott Mello and Derek Atkins.
Sarah Bonnet won the Women’s A division unchallenged, while Gabriella Arnold claimed the Women’s B category with 166 points, five points ahead of Ashley Kirkpatrick. The pair finished first and second in Sunday’s race. Ali Watlington came third with 50 points.
Women’s Veteran honours went to Karen Smith, who finished well ahead of the nearest competitor with 147 points. Laurie Orchard, who won the race, was second with 47 points, and Wenda Roberts third on 40 points.
In the Women’s Novice section, Joanne Medeiros won both the race and the overall title with 161 points. Deanna Didyk, was second in the race and in points with 109. The final podium spot went to Brittney Uddin, who grabbed 56 points during the course of the season.
In the junior age groups, Dylan Hill and Tristan Narraway won the Junior Men’s and Women’s 13-15 age groups, while Malik Joell and Kayla Raymond won the respective 12-and-under age groups for boys and girls.
