Fun fair raises $83,150 for schools

Handing over funds: representatives from the schools who will benefit from the donations

Pembroke Rotary Club has donated $83,150 to 11 Bermudian public primary schools, thanks to last month’s fun fair and raffle.

The huge sum combined raffle ticket sales with money made at the fair on March 12 at St Paul’s church hall in Paget, which included a fun castle, train rides and baked goods.

On Tuesday, club president Chris Williams met with representatives from the schools who participated in the event to thank them and hand over the funds.

The schools in question are: West Pembroke, Elliot, Paget Primary, Gilbert Institute, Victor Scott, Northlands, St David’s Primary, Francis Patton, Dalton E Tucker, West End Primary and Prospect Primary.
