Students spread feel-good message

Positive vibes: Mount Saint Agnes students stop by The Royal Gazette offices as part of the Bermuda National School Salute (Photograph by Blaire Simmons)

A troupe of Mount Saint Agnes students took to Hamilton on Tuesday to spread the message of the Bermuda National School Salute.

The students attended several spots in the city — including the offices of The Royal Gazette — playing music and handing out hundreds of cards with drawings and messages by students. On the back of each card was the text: “Darkness cannot overpower darkness, only light can do that, like hate can’t overpower hate. Only love can do that.”

After a rendition of When the Saints Come Marching In Laura Lyons, director of development at the school, said: “We wanted to thank The Royal Gazette for their sponsorship of the school salute.

“We are going to stop by a few places in Hamilton and spread the positive message.

“We have about 375 cards to give out altogether, one for every student at MSA.”

The Bermuda National School Salute will continue until tomorrow, focusing on a different school every day.
