Public school pupils will return to the classroom today after last term ended early because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In-class learning resumes today after the new term started on January 5 with remote learning.

A Ministry of Education spokesperson said: "The department is looking forward to the return of students and staff to our schools tomorrow.“

She added: “We are expecting that the majority of students will be in attendance."

Kellie Smith, a teacher at Northlands Primary School in Pembroke was yesterday pictured preparing her classroom to welcome back her P2 pupils.

The school said it planned to welcome pupils back with balloons and decorations.

Public schools closed their classrooms at the beginning of December and were forced to implement remote learning.
