A new chapter in the island’s education has begun as 289 incoming students at CedarBridge Academy and the Berkeley Institute were ‘clapped in’ to mark the start of the Ministry of Education’s signature school programme.
The Minister of Education Diallo Rabain said: “A total of 289 incoming S1 students were 'clapped in' as they entered The Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy to undertake studies in Health and Social Care, Financial and Insurance Services, STEM, and Trades and Professions.
“We look forward to continuing the work to reform our public school systems and create the necessary opportunities for our children to follow their passions and interests, build on their talents and capabilities and achieve their careers and further aspirations.”
Signature courses at Berkeley are Health and Social Care and Financial and Insurance Services. CedarBridge has courses in STEM and Trades and Professions.
David Burt, the Premier said: “This government is committed to ensuring that you and your peers achieve great learning and life outcomes; not only for you but for the benefit of our society, economy and the future of our nation.”
