Education fair featuring UK and Irish schools to be held at BUEI

Students and parents can learn about several British and Irish boarding schools at an education fair this week.

The event is sponsored by the local organisation Beach Education and will take place at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Friday and Saturday.

The boarding schools Bedes, Ryde, West Buckland, Sherborne, Sherborne Girls, Bryanston, Culford, Sexey’s and Gordonstoun, King Charles III’s alma mater, all of which presented at a fair last year, will be taking part again.

Four new schools — Dauntsey’s, Stonar, Queen Ethelburga’s and Clongowes in Ireland — will also be featured.

Fiona Beach, director of Beach Education, said: “I encourage all families to come to our event and learn what options are available to their children.

“Even if you are thinking of a few years’ time, it is important to start the process and thinking a few years in advance.”

The Guardian Family Network, which provides guardianship support to overseas students at boarding schools in Britain, will also be at the fair.

The free event will run from 3.30pm to 7pm on September 15 and 2pm to 6pm the next day. September 17 has been set as a back-up day if Hurricane Lee has an impact on the island on Friday.

To register for the free event, click its Eventbrite link or visit the organisation’s Facebook page @BeachEducationUK or beacheducation.com.
