Home Show brings out some of Island’s best
Bermuda Equestrian Federation’s Welcome Home Show will field more than 60 horses and riders at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday.The show will cover a diverse range of events including the standard Hunter and Jumper categories and the Western and Pleasure driving disciplines.Among the competitors showing in the various Pleasure Driving classes will be Melody Smith and Kiwon Waldron.Smith began riding horses at five years old and has competed internationally in the Hunter and Jumper discipline in Canada, US and Puerto Rico.She will be driving Random Raider, who has been the champion driving horse in the Agricultural Exhibition twice in the last three years.Smith will be joined by junior Waldron in the Obstacle Driving class.Waldron, 12, already has several wins in his rookie season, racing out of Random Stables.He will also be driving Random Raider in the Children's Pleasure driving category.Michael Rodrigues will be showing under both the Hunter and Jumper categories.Rodrigues has been coaching for the last 15 years and will be bringing several of his young students, including Justus Anderson, Elizabeth Madeiros and Candyce Martins.
