Philip Correia, on Emerson, pipped Kirista Rabain, riding Helsinki V/D by just .61 of a second to win the category A class of the FEI World Jumping Challenge Competition I at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday.

The victory, in an event that allows riders to compete with others around the world without having to leave the island, entitles Correia to an invitation to the finals. In the B and C categories, which feature lower heights that are designed to encourage riders and horses to move up the divisions, Vicki Steele on All in One and Casey Truran on De Le Vega were the respective winners, being the only riders to post two faultless rounds.

Dale Rochester was runner-up in category B with 8 faults and Elizabeth Madeiros second in category C having posted a clear first round only to be charged with one time fault in the second round with no rails down.
