Kirista Rabain will test herself against some the best riders in her sport at the FEI World Jumping Finals in Alger, Algeria, next month.

Rabain, riding Helsinki Van De Heffinck, and Philip Correia and his horse Emerson secured first and second at the World Jumping Challenge at the National Equestrian Centre last month to qualify for the competition.

Correia, who won a silver medal at last year’s finals in Rabat, Morocco, has ruled himself out of the competition because of business commitments.

The top two riders from each of the ten regional zones have the opportunity to take part in the World Jumping Finals on borrowed horses supplied by the hosting national federation. The finals will be held from May 3 to 6.

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation said: “The FEI World Jumping Finals will provide Kirista Rabain with an excellent opportunity to meet and compete against riders from around the world.

“The Bermuda Equestrian Federation and its members are extremely proud of this accomplishment.”

The countries competing in the World Jumping Finals include New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Iran, Venezuela, Ecuador, Uruguay, Lebanon, India, Morocco, Mauritius and Uzbekistan.
