Strong displays by local riders

Bermuda's riders achieved strong performance in the second competition of the FEI Jumping World Challenge at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday.

In Category A, which is 1.20 to 1.30 metres, Philip Correia and his horse Emerson achieved double clears with solid displays in both rounds.

Courtney Bromby, riding Worth the Wait, enjoyed impressive rounds with double clears to capture first place in Category B, 1.10-1.20.

Leading the way in Category C, 1.00-1.10, were Cody Rego and his horse Casanova.

This team executed another outstanding performance going clear in both jumping rounds in a time of just 50.93 to take top spot.

The world challenge gives local riders an opportunity to compete on the international stage without having to travel overseas.

Riders from ten geographical regions compete over the same courses designed by an FEI appointed course designer. Rakshan Radpour, of Iran, has designed the course this year.

Individual and team world rankings are on offer for each of the three categories.

Only the results of the best two of the three competitions in each category count towards the final rankings.

Bermuda's third competition of the world challenge will be held this Saturday at the National Equestrian Centre.
