Logic teams up with Artemis
IT company Logic is to be technical supplier to America’s Cup team Artemis.
The firm has been appointed by the Swedish challengers in next year’s sailing event.
Richard Lau, the chief technology officer at Logic, said: “Our technology and expertise will provide the team with the global connectivity they need to achieve their ambitious goals.
“We are excited to work with Artemis racing and to watch them prepare as the America’s Cup draws near.”
Logic will provide the team, which is based at Morgan’s Point, with high speed internet using wireless and fibre-optic links.
The technology will be used to allow team members to link up with partners and offices around the world, with Artemis’s engineering and design teams in California.
Iain Percy, Artemis team manager and tactician, said: “We use the internet continually to collaborate and communicate, transfer large-design drawings, work on simulations and for other functions that are critical to our operations.”
And he added that the “reliable link, as we will have with Logic” would assist the squad to integrate its operations and keep in touch with team members as they travel around the world in preparation for the Great Sound races next year.
