It’s all about the ladies at the America’s Cup Village today, bringing a touch of glamour to all the testosterone-fuelled racing.

Girls will be special guests at The Ultimate Ladies Day Out — though men and children are welcome to attend — featuring themed entertainment and special acts on the main stage, a lunchtime fashion showcase, feminine cocktails, and, let’s not forget, a touch of pampering.

Entertainment includes the soulful sounds of Gita Blakeney and Cindy Smith, popular local band The Big Chill, and Liv Mislu backed by One SOULution Band — a high-energy group performing everything from reggae and R&B to rock and pop.

There will be champagne, wine and exclusive cocktail promotions as well as complimentary mini-manicures and hand massages courtesy of Exhale Spa from the Hamilton Princess.

A spokeswoman for ACBDA told us: “Ladies Day is a great opportunity midweek to relax, be pampered and have fun with your friends.

“The activities can be enjoyed with a general admission ticket for just $10. We look forward to showcasing more fantastic local talent on the stage and the fashion show will be one of many highlights. “The America’s Cup Village has a continuous line-up of entertainment and fun. It’s a great way to continue the excitement of last weekend.”

The Village opens at 11.30am and closes at 5.30pm. Those ladies who purchased their tickets before May 28 will be entered into a draw to win one of two prizes: a chase boat experience for the winner and a guest on Ladies Day, and a second prize of a $250 voucher to redeem at the America’s Cup Superstore in the America’s Cup Village. Winners will be selected at random next Monday.

While the Grandstand seating is sold out for Ladies Day, tickets are still available for the Longtail Lounge and Gosling’s Dark ’n Stormy Bar and general admission tickets are available for only $10. These can be booked online at americascup.com/tickets.
